There's a fridge magnet on my refrigerator that very aptly describes me when it comes to my shopping. The teeter actually bought it for me when we were in the U.K two years ago and till today, nothing has changed.
But, to be fair, I actually make it a point to clear my clothes once or twice a year because we do not have enough storage to hold all the clothes my teeter and I have together. Not just clothes, of course. I clear out my bags, shoes and lingerie too.
So once again, it is the time of the month to share all the ahem amazing items I bought.
If you're wondering, and if you've been following, I did do a bit of shopping in the U.K. Not much because that wasn't the main objective of our trip but I enjoyed browsing through the racks of clothes at New Look, possibly my favourite brand in the U.K, and Aldo.
Shopping in Singapore is still quite the experience for me nonetheless. Online shops and discount codes will always hold a place in my heart. (I kid you not.)
1. Suit Up Stripes Romper by TCL

Adding a new print to my wardrobe with this striped romper!
Truth be told, I hesitated a long time before carting this piece out because the measurements aren't as snug as I hoped it to be but like they say: nothing haunts you like the things you didn't buy.
What really charmed me was the low v-neck line that teases a little. It's sexy yet sophisticated at the same time. I also noticed how it gives off the illusion of a fuller chest. (Casually remarked about this to the ol' friend and she agreed!) I went for a more edgy image by pairing this with my chained boots but there's always a more feminine option with strapped heels.
Needless to say, the quality was very up to standard.
2. Denim Pocket Skirt in Light Wash by TCL

I don't normally join backorders because I always wonder if I'll still be as into an item when it arrives a month later but I took the leap with this denim number.
I don't yet have a denim skirt but denim is extremely fashionable and ever timeless so I'm sure this will come in handy on many occasions. It's not too casual but not too formal either and depending on the top and, more importantly, footwear, this is definitely a wardrobe staple.
Those functional front (not side!) pockets tugged me at the right place. They're convenient for holding small items like my ez-link card or loose change or even my iPhone whenever I need to free my hands. Pockets are so underrated these days but I find them a real consideration for customers when designers incorporate the right pockets.
Please tell me I'm not the only one going all heart-eyed for this.
3. Marcia High Neck Top in Nude by TTR

This month got me obsessing over this particular cut that's perfect for showing off a more sculptured upper body. It also gives off the illusion of slender arms, which is something I've been diligently working towards.
Of all the colours available, I went with the safest option. I have a lot (and I really mean a lot) of white and black tops but have never experimented with nude partly because neutral colours tend to be a little boring to me, which is the same reason why I've stopped stocking up on monochrome tops. This nude is darker in natural lighting and I'd consider it more beige actually.
Needless to say, this has got to be one of the easiest tops to coordinate!
4. Linsey Wide Leg Culottes in Pinstripes Black by TTR

I admit: I am a sucker for culottes and boy shorts so when wide leg culottes were released, I was absolutely delighted!
I kid you not when I say these are the airiest pants ever! They're even bearable in this heat and humidity that I needn't give a second thought about wearing them out. Cotton polyester might not sound like the most weather appropriate material but I promise you the comfort level exceeded my expectations. I can safely say these are my new favourite go-to bottoms!
As you might have inferred, I really love the way TTR styled these culottes with the high neck top so I had to get both.
5. Regina Skirt by MDS

This is probably my favourite purchase from MDS by far.
It is now no secret that I have fallen in love with (pretty) prints and the Regina Skirt is absolutely stunning. The hues of blue is and tint of blush is really soothing. I love how they included blush to the hemline to give a more complete feel to the skirt.
There's also a very subtle slit that you wouldn't notice if you didn't pay attention to it. But that's a pleasant surprise, no?
6. Libra Top in Geometric Navy by MDS

I wasn't kidding when I said I'm obsessing over this cut so what better way to (needlessly) prove my point that to add one more to the collection?
I don't ever opt for geometric prints because they seem really complicated and, honestly, looking at it for prolonged periods gives me a headache but, as you can tell, I made an exception with this piece only because I sometimes feel we need to have one of those complex prints for rainy, gloomy days.
That's not to say I won't be readily wearing this out. It's a great way to spice up any outfit especially when most of my investments are in plain, solid-coloured clothes. (Also, the navy blue doesn't seem very navy blue here but it really is in real life.)
7. Sabrina Pants in Abstract by MDS
Call me crazy but every time I look at these pants, I scream a little woah inside. I still can't figure where I got the courage to buy these but trust me when I say I actually loved them when I tried them on.
My mom commented that it looks a little "oldie" but c'mon, I'd say it's retro. I admit it's a very bold buy but things like this force me out of my comfort zone and explore a little more of who I am and who I can be. On a side note, the prints are a hidden plus point because I can throw on any random top and it'd still look somehow reasonable. (We all have lazy days, don't we?)
The material in this case is very different from the usual cotton polyester. I love the soft texture and how it lightly swirls around my legs when the wind blows. This is a quintessential example of the comfiest pants that fits me to the T!
I have shopped all my life and still have nothing to wear.That's right, that's me.

~~~~~~~~~~
Unintentionally calculated the number of clothes I bought during my trip and I'd say I did pretty decent, bringing home 6 new additions to the closet and a pair of sandals. So all in all, I went over-budget and bought 14 new items this month.
Guilty as charged.
