SENSITIVITY

Good day, y'all!

As usual, beginning the post with a little something I took off the Internet again:

They always say the most pleasant surprises happen when they are least expected. ☺ And I find that so, so true. How else would we better appreciate if we already know it's about to happen, right?

----------
I spent the afternoon with Nisa yesterday! We didn't take any photos. We didn't even remember to take photos together, which happens all the time, but it's alright.

We went to Old Town White Coffee for a late lunch. They were having a promotion so we could choose a main course and drink from an alternate menu for a better deal. Nisa and I both ordered a set of toast. ☺ I had enriched chocolate (cold) and Nisa had teh tarik (hot) for $3.30 per set but she was so hungry she ordered a main course from the ala carte menu. She ate Ipoh Hor Fun (soup) for $10.80 if I'm not wrong while I, being ambitious, ordered a bowl of wanton noodles (dry).

Total bill came up to $27, which is slightly overpriced for someone who is supposed to be on budget. ☹ Including tax and service charges, I spent about $10.80. I'd say the food wasn't fantastic, not fantastic enough for me to part with $7.90 for a bowl of noodles. (I have no photos, unfortunately.) Aesthetically, both our dishes seemed pretty visually appealing and while that's a plus point, it's not the main point. According to Nisa, their toast tasted 'good' but I can't stand for that since I was too full for mine. ☹

I even had it taken away, intending to munch on it throughout my movie but I forgot all about the toast in my bag. ☹ I ended up throwing them away, what a waste seriously.

Anyway, we watched Escape Plan at JCube and I enjoyed it thoroughly. ☺ I know I'm going to sound biased because I absolutely love Slyvester Stallone and Arnold Schwarzenegger but the plot itself was intriguing!

Apart from the occasional blood spill and violent scenes (personally not a fan of those), it was action-packed and very… technical, in a sense. Stallone's character was exceptionally intelligent (as if Reid in Criminal Minds) and Schwarzenegger's character was all about loyalty and sticking together. It was so intense throughout I was always on the edge. I couldn't wait for the end, couldn't wait to see how Stallone's character would break out of that seemingly escape-proof prison. The whole idea of a floating prison far away from society came across as very refreshing for a fiction and also scary. It was heart-gripping, really.

Lucky for me, a $6.50 movie ticket for an awesome show was definitely worth it. ☺

Next up would be The Hobbit with Mom and Frozen with the family ☺ December may not be my favorite month, but it's definitely one of my better months.

What makes December even better is the fact that SJ is coming back and we're finally going to have a sleepover at her place. ☺ (She's already slept twice at mine.) I can't wait to hear all about her stories and adventures in Bristol/UK. I honestly miss my holiday whenever I talk to SJ. ☹

----------
On a last note, it's almost midnight, which means Tuesday is about to end. I've been feeling rather.. nervous of late and I can't figure out why. ☹

Anyway, discovered a lovely song by IU. And I mean lovely in a sad, mellow way. It's gonna be on replay for a while.

Specially chose one with English subtitles so y'all can better understand the meaning of the song. ☺

Well, while it is a sad song, it's also one of the better songs on her latest album so I hope you guys enjoy it!

Goodnight everyone! ☺

Murhphy's Law

" Why don't you take a loan? " " Is it worth it? " " I don't know but I know you wanna go. " ---------- Today, the bestf introduced me to one of Murphy's Laws. (I just Googled it and realize he has many laws.) Anyway, the one most relevant to my life right now is the one that states anything that can go wrong, will go wrong  and I guess the bestf had all the reasons to share Murphy's Law with me. The sister and I brought Shelty to see his doctor today. We were half-sure his doctor would suggest surgery so we tried our best to mentally prepare ourselves for the blow. Nothing too unexpected except the cost . Of course, I'd say $2-2.5k for a surgery of that scale is considerably reasonable. After all, Shelty's got dislocated hips (hence the disjoined joints). But, nonetheless, $2-2.5k is something we never imagined. Not before and definitely not now with all the debts we've to pay off. We had a long day. Both the ...

JULY'15 LOOTS OF THE MONTH

There's a fridge magnet on my refrigerator that very aptly describes me when it comes to my shopping. The teeter actually bought it for me when we were in the U.K two years ago and till today, nothing has changed. I have shopped all my life and still have nothing to wear. That's right, that's me. But, to be fair, I actually make it a point to clear my clothes once or twice a year because we do not have enough storage to hold all the clothes my teeter and I have together. Not just clothes, of course. I clear out my bags, shoes and lingerie too. So once again, it is the time of the month to share all the ahem  amazing items I bought. If you're wondering, and if you've been following, I did do a bit of shopping in the U.K. Not much because that wasn't the main objective of our trip but I enjoyed browsing through the racks of clothes at New Look, possibly my favourite brand in the U.K, and Aldo. Shopping in Singapore is still quite the experience for me n...
