FOODIE ADVENTURE E05

I must have mentioned a couple of entries ago that I was coordinating a coffee story for April's issue and that was when I chanced upon Old Hen Coffee Bar. My first experience with them was pretty good. It's a cozy, little cafe with wooden tables and metal stools. Oh, and lots of light! Unlike most dim lit cafes that opt for the whole hipster  concept, Old Hen retains the laid-back atmosphere quite well with its well lit location. I raved about their Cold Brew but had to give it a miss when I was there on Sunday. (Reason being, I'm coordinating a story on Sunday night insomnia  and in order to sleep better on Sunday nights, you should avoid caffeine at least twelve hours before bedtime. I was there at 1PM.) Instead, I finally  tried the Crab Coleslaw Toast  ($8.50)  I had been eyeing since my first trip. Well, if you have sautéed vegetables, you would already win half my heart (or palette) but there wasn't any of those. Only raw ba...

FOODIE ADVENTURE E04

Picture credits to: Katherine ( blog , Instagram ) Amidst all the CNY-related posts, I'm here to deliver my experience at Artistry. Been to Artistry just about four times and I was impressed the first three times, except the last. I first went to Artistry last year. I don't know if I blogged about my experience then already but I was with Angel and... I don't remember what I ordered. Fast-forward to 2015, I've been there three times already! Big Breakfast ($12) They offer the same set with pork sausages for $15 but I don't eat pork so the counter stuff suggested I go for the Big Breakfast, which was satisfying enough. I've a thing for fluffy scrabbled eggs and I...

ARTISTRY x

Been looking forward to today since some time last week and so glad everything went well! I've been meaning to ask Angel out for a long time after she attended my birthday party because I never really got to be a good host to her (or anyone else actually) but I hesitated for a long time as I wasn't sure if it was the right move to make. Nonetheless, the mini me inside my head kept screaming for me to make the move and with 5 seconds of insane courage, I did. I honestly wasn't expecting anything but I was more than just delighted she agreed to meet me today. :') So Angel suggested Artistry , a cafe conveniently located on Jln Pinang street. And, boy, the food was so good. I had my go with their eggs on toast  for $10 and I'd say its money well-spent on finely cooked eggs and delicious sautéed mushrooms + spinach. The mushrooms were so, so, so good! More importantly, it was a filling meal for a much more reasonable price (compared to other cafes I've been ...
