BIDDING Y3S1 FAREWELL

The last 2 days of school were longer than ever but it was exciting nonetheless! Wednesday's 3-hour lecture ended in 45 minutes and Mel and I returned to school to complete our respective reports. Kat's 4-hour lesson ended in an hour (!) but since we all agreed to have dinner together (and it was only 315PM), Kat decided to hang around with us while watching Downton Abbey. The 3 of us then went to take part in a $5 survey before taking off to Star Vista's NeNe Chicken,  where Sab met us. The outlet was surprisingly narrow but the chicken was good nonetheless. This time we ordered a whole chicken with honey mustard sauce. Since I had already tried the green onion and swicy sauces, I decided to order the freaking hot sauce as well. Oh! And I had their NeNe  pop as well although I do still prefer KFC's popcorn chicken. It's so unhealthy but the only non-carbonated drink they had was Minute Maid (orange) and I honestly don't like orange so Kat and I h...

just like old times

I cannot be more thankful to God for blessing me with beautiful friends who keep me together when the tough gets going and for always reserving a part of their lives for me. :') Today! I (finally) met Grace after a good 6 months. She spent the first 5 months on exchange in Auckland, New Zealand, and had to nurse a fever + flu the whole of July but she made time for me today. Just couldn't turn down her invitation to lunch even though I've been down with a cold since last Friday ( how unfortunate really, it made the rest of my vacation slightly unbearable ). Although I arrived half an hour late, Ms Magnanimous still greeted me with her signature smile and the rest of our time spent together was nothing short of fun and laughter. We had lunch at Everything with Fries  (EwF) for the first time and I was honestly appalled at the price range! I really wasn't expecting everything to be in the $10s for a fast-food restaurant. Anyway, I ordered a grilled ham and cheese sa...

SOCIAL SUNDAY

Disclaimer: Long post ahead. I had to Google search adjectives starting with S  in order to come up with the title because I wanted to sound a bit more classy but I went with something simple and easily understood anyway (since that's the whole point of blogging to an unknown group of people - to be understood). Like the title suggests, today was pretty much a social  day for me. ☺ I woke up slightly past 10AM to a reminder from a colleague that I had to work this afternoon. I had absolutely no clue what she was talking about initially until I went through the conversation I had with my boss then I realized I agreed to relief a class of P5 Math from 12 to 2PM, which I did. Thank God I woke up in time. I haven't gone back to the Khatib branch in a long, long time so I wasn't sure if I was going to recognize the kids but all went well thankfully. I still remember the days I spent working at the counter, talking to all the parents and building rapport with the childr...

Moonlight

Now playing: EXO-M - Moonlight 月光 Good day, folks! Greeting y'all again because it's been a good day and I want to remember it for as long as I can. ☺ Earlier today I woke up at 11AM. Surprisingly late but it seems my body clock has shifted again . I used to wake up around 9AM without an alarm and I think of that as a good thing but these days I've become sooooo  tired I don't wake up unless I need to pee. But anyway, yes, I woke up at 11AM. ☺ I went for a jog around noon because the weather was lovely - 28° outside. I had to take advantage of that so I went for a quick jog (and burnt 221 calories according to Runtastic). Today's run felt slightly different. No, I'm pretty sure my stamina did not improve in 5 days but my heart was beating extremely fast and it wouldn't slow down even as I cooled down. (That is weird, right?) For a moment there, I thought I was about to die. Thank God I'm alive, really. So I came home and prepared to meet Nisa...

Turning 21 (Part III)

I can't believe I've yet to finish compiling the photos from my 21st birthday so I guess that explains why I've a part III  right now. Bear with me, I'd love to complete it as soon as I can! Every time I recollect that day, it seems so magical and unreal (although it seems even more unreal that I'm actually 21 right now). Nonetheless, below are more photos and messages to share of the people who came to congratulate me. ☺ My maternal grandparents. ☺ I remember when Papa passed away, my grandmother came to live with us for a while. (Thinking back, I somehow don't remember my grandfather living with us then.) She was a strict woman, for sure. I tried to cheat once as she tested me on mental sums and she found on. She said: Don't think I don't know you're cheating.  Of course, the 7-year-old me was scared to death and back. Many years have passed since and now that she's much older, a lot of health issues have cropped up. It's som...

If

I haven't been here in a considerably long time since I returned to regular updating a couple of months back but I am back now. ☺ The past weeks have been rather hectic and I'm feeling all bruised now with the conclusion of my second academic year at NTU and my grandmother's admission (and discharge) from the hospital and everything else. Truth is, I feel as if there are a lot of things running through my mind right now but I don't know where to begin really… It's weird when words, at this point, cannot help me express even though words are all I have. One thing for sure is, like I mentioned above, I am done with Year 2 . That also means to say I'm halfway through my academic journey at NTU. Yes, I had wanted to go celebrate with Mel with the conclusion of our examinations last Monday but I was so worn out I chose to go home instead. Looking back at the last 2 years, I'd say… it was nothing short of spectacular but it was nothing particularly amazing...

METRONOME

Before posting, I'd like to share the following music video by Jay Park.   Jay Park is, by far, one of my favourite  solo male artist. ☺ Metronome  has been on replay ever since I first heard it two days ago. What makes the song even more awesome is the fact that Simon D and Gray are in it too! I'm so proud of Simon D for making his comeback in this song. I've always wondered what would happen to his music career ever since Supreme Team disbanded last year but hearing him rap again has got to be one of the best ways to celebrate the end of this semester. ☺ I also really, really love Gray's part. It's just so… amazing. Anyway, enjoy the song and spread the goodness! Moving on to what I'm about to share. Today marked the last day of Y2S2. Not that there's nothing left to school but I've officially ended all my lessons and what's left are the written papers and my listening and oral test for Jap. Other than that, I guess I could ...

Turning 21 (Part II)

So I've decided to update y'all on the second part of my 21st birthday. Now it feels like I've many more parts to come because every update is bit of this and that.  But this one is meant for all my relatives who came! ☺ A bit of a sidetrack before I move onto the topic: Some 2 weeks have passed since I celebrated my 21st but I don't really feel there's much of a difference.  Anyway, I've given up on editing my photos so please make do with the unedited ones. (Pardon my poor  photo editing skills from the previous post as well. ☺) Mandatory shot of me "cutting" my cake In all honesty possible, we had a hard time cutting the cake. It was an ice-cream cake (Loco Moco from the kids' choice of birthday cakes) from Swensense by the way. We paid $150 for the cake, which I can't argue whether it was a reasonable price or not but for 3kg of hazel nut and chocolate ice-cream, why not ? ☺ I had a to make a wish while blowing the can...

2014

8 days into 2014 and I can safely say the year is off to a good start. ☺ Starting off the post with a group shot of Mel, Sab, Kat and myself when we met last Thursday. ☺ The initial plan was to go to Mind Cafe but it was raining so we took shelter at Plaza Sing. Sab suggested we go for some ice-cream but Baskin Robbins was too expensive so Kat brought us to this place called Merely Ice Cream., which wasn't much cheaper but still cheaper. ☺ Anyway, their ice-cream flavours are rather exquisite so it's a good idea to go try if you guys have the time. ☺ I had root beer float and Mel had salted butterscotch (?) while Sab had dark chocolate and Kat… I can't remember. ☹ But go try anyway! I remember they had green tea and other unique flavours. Plus, everything is made from fresh fruits (says their Facebook page) so all the better. ☺ Moving on! Throwback to Christmas at the Uncle's place. ☺ (Intentionally chose photos from that day because I look… ...

JOLLY SEASON

Got a tad too excited after mailing out some Christmas cards, albeit a little late, that I decided I should give this space an update. ☺ Pardon the hole in my fringe (always happens when I have bangs) but on Christmas Eve, the sister and I met Sandy and the kids for a picnic! Although the day didn't start out very well for me (since I had a bad tummy), everything fell into place eventually. ☺ Here's one with Jewelle, who took longer than usual to warm up to me that day. But afterwards she wouldn't leave me alone. ☺ I love spending time with this precious girl. She's so sensible despite her young age and I know she's going to grow up to be someone great. Jayden with the sister. Forgive my sister's unglam pose but Jayden was so comfortable lying against her like that, it was actually heartwarming to see. The lazy boy got too comfortable halfway through the picnic! He was actually eating his sandwich whilst lying down on my jean j...
