2014

With 2014 coming to a close, my final post for the year will be the traditional reflection. The past year has been pretty amazing for me. It was mostly filled with pleasant surprises although there, too, were some downers. The first couple of months weren't particularly exciting but life felt like it truly began after I turned 21 in March. Like I said, " It was a magical feeling. " Taking the opportunity to, once again, thank every one who took time off to come celebrate the special occasion with me in my humble home. And to every one else who wished me, thank you! Not forgetting my family who put together the entire celebration despite the high damage. I really appreciate it! :') April must have been one of months I looked forward to because I officially completed Y2! Y2 was somewhat mind-blowing. I actually enjoyed  the semester, probably because most of the cohort went on exchange and only a handful of us were left in school. I got to know and work with n...

No matter if you're near or far, our bond will never break

" At times our own light goes out and is rekindled by a spark from another person. Each one of us has cause to think with deep gratitude of those who have lighted the flame within us. " - Albert Schweitzer (1875-1965)   Today's magic practice began with a very powerful quote and it put me in an extremely good mood filled with nothing but gratitude for the people who have helped me in some way or another. As part of the practice, I chose 3 people to focus on and spoke out the reasons why I'm grateful for them. True enough, at the end of it, I was overwhelmed with emotions and almost on the brink of tears not because I was sad of any sort but because I felt so much at ease after giving my thanks. This might become one of my favourite magic practice. This magic practice  I speak of comes from Rhonda Byrne's the MAGIC , which I've religiously followed in the last 12 days. The book begins with one of the most sensible quotes ever and it has become of...

It's all good

I don't even remember when the last Thankful Thursday post was but I suppose it just goes to show how undedicated I am. That definitely does not mean I haven't been thankful. There is just so much to be thankful for in life and it's such a challenge to pinpoint every single one but that doesn't stop me from giving thanks. 😊 Although it's Friday today, I meant for this post to be released yesterday to coincide with the meaning of the title so despite being a day late, I'm gonna keep the title nonetheless. 😅 This week has been extremely, tremendously fun. 🙆 I made time to meet up with some of my long-time-no-see friends and that really made me happy. 😌 Monday began slightly early as I headed out for lunch with Mel and Rachel. It was supposed to be a meet-up with friends from my Korean class but Gekhooi was working that morning and Lynette had driving lesson at 4:30PM so both of them couldn't make it for lunch in town. The 3 of us went to Seoul G...

If I

" Every sixty seconds you spend upset is one minute of happiness you will never get back. " I chanced upon the above quote while scrolling through Instagram. It was probably someone's caption but I find it so, so true. I used to spend so much time dwelling on things that only made me even more upset and frustrated, thinking I would eventually reach a solution but I forgot how precious and important it is to live in the moment. Well, thank God all that is now over. These days have been really good. Like, really  good. Sometimes I'm so excited about life that I cannot stop squirming in my seat or letting out a small squeal. I cannot pinpoint just what it is that makes me so contented (and my friends probably find me a little crazy) but the truth is I am  floating on a constant cloud nine! Two days ago, I met Mel and Kat for dinner at Beer Market. Took advantage of the Happy Hour promotion - $10+ for 3 sides/ $4+ for 1 side - from 6 to 8PM. Can't exactly say ...
A bit late but hi there, December ! The semester officially ended Monday and I've been lazing around ever since. 😄 I don't think I can express how happy I am right now that the semester is over. And I'm even happier at the thought of not having to return to school until next August. 😊 December is going to be an exciting  month filled with nothing but goodness. Starting with tomorrow evening's dinner, I've intelligently (😏) spaced out all the meet-ups so that I don't feel so overwhelmed. And also to prevent myself from spending money too quickly. But I'm so hyped! I've slaved the last 15-16 weeks I think I deserve to celebrate like I've never before. 🙆 I guess you could also considering it recharging for internship come January. (Yet another something to look forward to!) In the meantime, I'm just going to enjoy being a part-time bum. Been waking up at 11AM the last couple of days because there's nothing to do even if I wok...
