FOODIE ADVENTURE E06

It has been a week of exploring new menus so I decided to share where I’ve been most recently. Over the weekend, we decided to have dinner at The French Table at Northpoint in celebration of Mother’s Day. Our initial plan to The Queen & Mangosteen (VivoCity) got cancelled because the brother would not make it home on time. How unfortunate, because I honestly think the experience there would be unparalleled to what I had to go through at The French Table. The newly opened restaurant replaced Bakerzin and serves a menu of Japanese and Western food at what I would consider reasonable prices if the food was decent. The four of us ordered a one appetizer, one soup, one salad, three mains and two drinks. The total bill came up to about $120 if I remember correctly. Allow me to reiterate once more that I would readily consider the prices reasonable if the food was actually up to standard. I was disappointed on so many levels. With each dish, my expectations dropped and I gradual...

SENJYU 千寿

こんばんは、皆さん! (Read: Konbanwa, minna-san! Translate: Good evening, every one! ) Suffering from a massive headache right now but I just had to update about my virgin visit to Senjyu  on Saturday with the teeter. Her treat, of course. Forgive me but I don't know the proper names for every plate of sushi we took but  I do know what they're made of .   The teeter and I were home alone on a Saturday evening and since we were too lazy to cook ( I had to work till 4PM ), we decided to go to Northpoint - the nearest shopping mall to where we live - to see what we could have. We reached around 8PM and realizing we haven't had a chance to dine at  Senjyu , we went to try our luck with the queue. It wasn't too long a wait, probably 5-10 minutes at most. We waited slightly longer because we wanted to sit by the conveyor belt. The concept is really the same as Sakae Sushi  or Hei Sushi  - the conveyor belts and the iPad per table. I heard Senjyu  ...

SOCIAL SUNDAY

Disclaimer: Long post ahead. I had to Google search adjectives starting with S  in order to come up with the title because I wanted to sound a bit more classy but I went with something simple and easily understood anyway (since that's the whole point of blogging to an unknown group of people - to be understood). Like the title suggests, today was pretty much a social  day for me. ☺ I woke up slightly past 10AM to a reminder from a colleague that I had to work this afternoon. I had absolutely no clue what she was talking about initially until I went through the conversation I had with my boss then I realized I agreed to relief a class of P5 Math from 12 to 2PM, which I did. Thank God I woke up in time. I haven't gone back to the Khatib branch in a long, long time so I wasn't sure if I was going to recognize the kids but all went well thankfully. I still remember the days I spent working at the counter, talking to all the parents and building rapport with the childr...

RAMENPLAY

Good day, y'all! It's been a good day thus far.   ☺ I went to relief 2 classes today from 2 to 6PM and, boy, I was so drained by the end of the day. I really respect the tutors who can teach Secondary Math consecutively for hours. Anyway, I managed to leave on time and zoomed to meet Mama for dinner at Novena. She's been wanting to try RamenPlay, which was where we had dinner. I was probably too tired so I didn't feel hungry at all. I couldn't bring myself to finish the food either. I felt like puking the whole day - after lunch and then after dinner. The food didn't seem to settle well in my stomach. Either way, it was our first time at RamenPlay and the food wasn't too bad. In order of the food that came: Crispy Chicken Gyoza (5 pieces) I realize gyoza  is a must-have for Mama whenever she goes to a Japanese restaurant. I'd say the gyoza I had today is probably one of the best ever. ☺ Tori Momo Don Set ($13.80) I didn't ...

Lazy Sunday.

Good evening, everyone! Sunday is coming to an end soon and I'm quite hating the thought that tomorrow is Monday all over again. But, on a better  note, I'm 90% done with my CS2045 (Online Journalism) assignment! The only problem is I can't export the damn powerpoint as a movie without encountering screw-ups on my Macbaby. :-( So I consulted Google who enlightened me. There's no way to do so on MacBooks . Well, thank God for Windows then. On an even better  note! I went to Causeway Point with Mommy yesterday and I got myself a new technology gadget! My very own camera! (Its in white, yay!) I bought the Nikon Coolpix S6600 , which apparently is the latest model in the market according to the retail assistant. But I'm loving it anyway! Its got 12x zoom and 16.0 megapixels! What's even better is, its got WiFi connection so I can transfer my photos wirelessly. The screen is also twistable. So yes, for all those who love to take self-shots, this...
