SHELTY

Some nights ago, as I was walking home, I suddenly thought about Shelty and how he's not going to be with me forever. And that made me kind of sad. That night, I came home and found him on my brother's bed. He was in his shirt, all cuddled up underneath my brother's comforter. I went up to him as quietly as I could but he still woke up in the midst of his sleep and looked at me with his eyes half-open. I almost cried. I kissed him and whispered: " Thank you, baby, for being part of my life. " I was still about to cry. I stuffed my head into him and gave him tummy rubs (much against his will I imagine) but I still did it anyway because if I didn't, I felt as if I'd be missing out on something so precious. A couple of nights ago, we came home from an event and it was almost midnight. I was dead-tired and kept complaining about how I had to work the following morning. After showering, I heard my brother mention how he didn't have enough s...

No matter if you're near or far, our bond will never break

" At times our own light goes out and is rekindled by a spark from another person. Each one of us has cause to think with deep gratitude of those who have lighted the flame within us. " - Albert Schweitzer (1875-1965)   Today's magic practice began with a very powerful quote and it put me in an extremely good mood filled with nothing but gratitude for the people who have helped me in some way or another. As part of the practice, I chose 3 people to focus on and spoke out the reasons why I'm grateful for them. True enough, at the end of it, I was overwhelmed with emotions and almost on the brink of tears not because I was sad of any sort but because I felt so much at ease after giving my thanks. This might become one of my favourite magic practice. This magic practice  I speak of comes from Rhonda Byrne's the MAGIC , which I've religiously followed in the last 12 days. The book begins with one of the most sensible quotes ever and it has become of...

a trip back to vet

Once again, the day has come for Shelty to return to the vet for his fourth cartrophen jab. ☹ Inserts a leave-me-alone  face Some time last month, he began limping and we all got uneasy because we thought it was a side effect of the first operation he did on his left hind leg. Worried sick, we immediately booked an appointment with his vet - Animal Recovery Centre. Shelty has seen Dr Ly since he was a baby but because Dr Ly's schedule is mostly full, we decided to make do with the other veterinarians available. Anyway, on the last 3 visits, I brought him with the help of my helper. Inquisitive instinct activated We were told, on his first visit last month, that Shelty's suffering from arthritis. His joints are giving way, which explains why he limps at times. And because his joints are no longer the way they used to be, his hip gets dislocated sometimes when he jumps. But then they move back into place again when he jumps some more. So we never knew and...

Tonight is our story

Almost forgot to check out the other songs on BEAST's latest album but something compelled me into doing so and I found out what a beautiful and sensual song History  is. But today I'm sharing lyrics to one of my all-time favourites and a rather old but timeless song - Collin Raye's Love, Me  (I believe the alternate title is If You Get There Before I Do ). " If you get there before I do, don't give up on me. I'll meet you when my chores are through, I don't know how long I'll be. But I'm not gonna let you down, darling wait and see. And between now and then till I see you again, I'll be loving you. Love, Me. With the influx of pop songs and over-saturated K-pop scene, I tend to forget I even grew up listening to some of the classic oldies and how much they mean to me. Times like this I'm kind of glad the radio actually plays meaningful music most of the time and songs like this remind me of what I've been through ...
